I have a Savage Mdl. 110 DL ca 1970. Can or does anyone install rhe new Accu Trigger on older Savages? Or would it be more cost effective to just buy a new gum. This one shoots 1 moa but I sure am impressed with the new trigger.

There have been one or two posters here who considered or got Savages with the new trigger. The general consensus was positive. Shooting writers have said the same, but it is hard to evaluate what they say, since they have to keep advertisers happy to keep writing. Give this thread a day or two to attract folks who have bought them.

I have tried to become more "open-minded" in the last year in my rifle purchases with better than average accuracy expectations from a factory rifle. I now own a Tikka T-3 and a CZ-527, not being one who likes a bunch of the same model guns the Savage came to mind, because of it's reputation accuracy wise. Of course the Savage rifles also generally have bad triggers, enter the Accu-trigger. I had the opportunity to handle one the other day and dry-fire and evaluate the trigger myself. My conclusion is that it might be Okay for some types of shooting, but it doesn't feel right to me...If I were to buy a Savage I'd go with an after market trigger. 0 -
I bought a Savage last year, so I didn't get the accu trigger. I got on the Savage forum and learned how to adjust the trigger, and it has a pretty good pull. I like it.
Over on the Savage forum there are ten guys who have the accu-trigger and they all love it. I have never seen one, but would like to check one out.0 -
Have the accu-trigger on a 22-250 varmit rifle. The trigger feel takes some time to get use to, but once I did I reaaly like it. I have mine adjusted right at 2lbs. and the pull is perfect. If you like the Savage brand it is just an added bonus. 0 -
me and another menber we both own the savage 10fp in .308 .
the accu trigger system allows you to change the trigger pull from anywhere between 2 1/2 lbs to 6 lbs.it also helps if you if ya got a problem anticpating the recoil and jerking the trigger.

I bought a savage 12fv in .243 about a month ago. I like the trigger it didn't take too long for me to get use to it, now my best group with a reload is about half an inch. For the price and accuracy I think it is a good buy. O yeah by the way the trigger is a lot better then the regular savage trigger, the safety feature of the accutrigger is what I had to get use to. 0 -
I have 2 10FPs with accu-triggers (.223 and .308). My .223 dialed down to .67lbs and my .308 comes in at 1.2lbs pull. I had purchased the .223 on a suggestion from a friend and the same day I shot it for the first time at the range, I ordered the .308 on my way home from the range. I love the set up.
I had no trouble getting use to the trigger. There is a bit of a "take up" feel to it while you depress the safety feature, but it breaks crisp and consistently. I have recommended it to everyone on our range and would heartily recommend it. These are my first Savages and from my experience with them, I would buy Savage again. I only wish I had gotten the McMillian stocks on them when I ordered them. Savage does save money with the synthetic stocks they use, but you can harden them for most people's needs.0 -
The local shop gunsmith reports no abnormal breakage or malfunctions. I too was about to by a savage when the Accu-trigger came out.
Only problem was a guy who set it so low that is fired by itself through recoil or some such nonsense. Not clear on the details.0
