Collectable or Junk - Boys .22.
Picked up an old .22, made by Page-Louis Arms Co. Model D Reliance.
Is it rare or a throw-away? The condition is very good and OK to
shoot. I can't find anything in my books to give me a clue. Thanks.

Mfg. 22 cal. single-shot lever guns from 1920-1926, find listings for Models A, B and C but no D and there are no indivators that the company was bought by another company that continued to use the name.
Model A, named the Target, was a 20" bbl. w/ open sights and walnut stock.
Model B, named the Sharpshooter was same as A except for 24 inch bbl.
Model C, named the Olympic was same as B except it sported improved sights.
Must have been pretty fair quality rifles because per 2002 Std. Catalog of Firearms they are valued at $225 for A & B Models and $275 for the C at a VG rating. Drop that to a G and value is $175 and $200 respectively.
Model D ???? Could the marking be worn and the model mistakenly read? By your stating model and name, I think not, but maybe the youth model was prought out just before the closed their doors and very few were ever made/sold ... if that should be the case ... get thee to a professional appraiser and don't mess with the rifle until then.

Some folks that collect "boys rifles," or .22's might well be intested. Not real high dollar, but certainly not junk either!

22WRF ... super find, now we can see what it looks like.
Other 3 models were lever action single shots, now we have a bolt action ..., still could be a "last gasp" model or there was another company turning them out under that name post-1926.
Hope somebody has a reference source that can give us more info.

I wonder what his reserve on it was since it didn't sell.
Notice how the bolt doesn't turn down very far.

Thank You...you guys are great, that photo of the model D is the
same gun I have, now I will treat it with more respect.0 -
Mfg. 1923-1928.
When Stevens bought out Page-Lewis, they kept the Model D in production and added "SVG" to the stock. It later became the Stevens Springfield Junior with a 24" barrel.
A unique "thumb trigger" model like the Winchester 99 was also produced in the Model D. and would demand a premium.
Price on yours would vary, but $100-$200 is reasonable depending upon condition.0 -
