Re: 45 match reloading
I know the topic is locked, but nobody hit on the solution, although the cause was mentioned- the OAL of the cartridges. Very few 1911-style mags feed SWC's well, because they are very short. Brownells sells a gizmo for re-shaping the lips of the magazine for feeding SWC rounds. It sure solved the problem for me!

Your point is well made, but as I recall he has other 1911's and does not have the problem with the mags and ammo in them. I'll have to track down the post and re read it, I might have gotten the wrong impression ... sure won't be the first time.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
Even if locked I'm still reading.
I have used these magazines in other 1911's but I'm not sure if the Wilson mags have ever been used for SWC's and the Clark mags came with the gun. I'll look into the Brownell's tool, it sounds like a good investment regardless of this problem.
Thanks for the follow up.0 -
I don't thing the Wilson mags are a problem. I have shot a lot of swc rounds with these in a lot of different 1911s without problems even the 155 gr. 0
