smith & wesson mountain gun 44mag
My blue book is 2 years old and I cannot find any information on this revolver such as values, weight, years made. Any help would be appreciated.

It's basically new so you need to catch someone with a new blue book, if the newest one even has it, and check values.
Another way is to go to: www.galleryofguns.com and use the gun locator function to call up the specs.
As for pricing the above Web site will give you essentially the retail price and you can go on GB or other auction sites to get a feel for the used and/or discounted new selling prices.

Welcome to the Forum, Elmer. I've got the latest edition, but wasn't able to spot anything about it either. However, there is some information, but no values, in the "Standard Catalog Of Smith & Wesson" 2nd Edition, pages 201-203. There have been several issues of the 629 Mountain Gun, including one very recent, beginning back in 1993. When you hold the revolver in your hand with the muzzle pointing to the left, open the cylinder toward you, and look at the inside of the frame below the barrel, does it say 629, 629-4, or 629-5? Does it have anything else written on the right side of the barrel? Come back with some more info, and maybe we can nail it down. 0 -
There's a test article in the May 2004 issue of Combat Handguns.
There's the Model M29 and S&W made 1,000 models of the M29-8.

If you are refering to the Mod. 29, Blue 4 inch version , there were only 2000 made by S&W custom shop . I paid $619 for mine in a spokane gun store, and have not seen one listed for sale yet. 0
