1911 gas conversion

Has anyone heard of a company which converts 1911's to gas operated? According to a friend the company clains that after the conversion your 1911 has much less recoil enabling you to stay on target during rapid fire.

A friend sent me an email with a web site 'ncggasgun' which I cannot find.[^]

  I remember reading about this conversion back in the early 80's. The G&A artical claimed it worked good. I don't think the concept ever really took off. I don't think very many kits were ever made.If you happen to find a link please post it.
