I am in the market for a scope to mount on a Win m70 in .300wsm and was looking at the Weaver Grand Slam series. Does anyone have an pro ro cons on this scope?

I have not purchased one yet,...but from the accolades given by my long range partners,..I will.

They are touted to have some super clear glass and great adjustment integrity.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
    Got Balistics?

I have a Grand Slam on a .308 Howa. Decent quality scope, glass and coatings are good, appears to be durable. My one dislike, which would make it useless on some bolt rifles is that the magnification ring is raised so the numbers (3x, 4x, etc.) are visible from behind the scope. Nice idea but it makes the ring huge. I have rifles that would hang the bolt on the ring unless the rings were unaccepably high.

I own several weaver grand slam scopes, 3-10*40, 4.5-14*40 and 6-20*40. The lenses are very nice, they look great, they take large adjustments well. I had some problems with fine adjustments 1/8-1/4" (not uncommon with most scopes)but was so impressed with clarity of the lenese, for the price,I purchased several more.

Some of these scopes took fine adjustments perfect and shot groups consistent with the capability of the gun. Some were a loosing battle when it came to finding the desired point of impact. Some change point of impact on the next outing.

Bottom line is, I want the scope to shoot as well as the gun its mounted on and I have not found this to be the case with weaver grand slam scopes as each gun been proven by old reliable.
