STAR MODEL B
Anyone have any experience with the older Star 1911 clones? I'm looking at a Model BMin 9mm. Looks like a Commander size version of the model B. I picked up a full-sized 9mm in the late 60s and it was a nice piece. I don't remember what the model was but it was similiar to a 1911 but did not have a grip safety. I bought it for practically nothing and traded it later. Thanks

I need some help here. I have a Star Model b in 9m/m Para. Pistol has been shooting flawlessly. Took it out today, and the first 20 shots or so fired just fine. Then the slide stopped coming back in recoil leaving the fired case in the chamber. Slide seemed a little hard to get back to eject case, but no real problem. This happened a couple of times. I disassembled the pistol, cleaned and oiled it, again no luck. I have tried several types of ammo so I am ruling out the ammo. Any ideas?

The Colt mags will not work in the Star. There are two different Star mags for that series. One for the B and another for the Super B. I have both mags available.

Which ones will work with the Star Model B?
It shoots 9mm Parabellum.

only STAR mags wil work in star guns. using mags not made or designed for your gun is a bad idea. while some mags will swap, or are designed to interchange, you should generaly avoid this practice. STAR MODEL B mags are available from several distributors, including TRIPLE K. i think that SOG and CDNN have a supply in stock and available for sale. you should get the correct mag for your gun. my father and i own several STAR pistols including a MODEL A (1922 VARIENT) in 9MM LARGO, and a MODEL SUPER B in 9MM LUGER. we have obtained the correct spare mags. best regards, mike.

Couldn't find any at SOG or CDNN. However, I found some at SARCO @ $30.00 each, a bit pricey, and J&G sales @ $10.00 each in quantity of 10 pieces. Will order the ones from J&G. Thanks for your input.
