Stay away from ANYTHING made by Hesse (now Vulcan) . Save a little more and get a Serbu or an AR-50. Don't forget to budget for a scope, rings and the accessories you will need. These will all be much more expensive than normal as they will need to be of the best quality to withstand the punishment of the 50BMG round. Ammo also will be a bit pricey and then you will want to find a range that is long enough to take advantage of the rounds potential. Good luck, shooting 50's can be a lot of fun.

second the NO HESSE post. Go to www.ar15.com and do a search on hesse. you will find all you need to know. They changed their name to vulcan to try and escape the bad rep hesse firearms had, but unfortunately (for anyone who bought a vulcan, that is) the vulcan guns were also junk, and now vulcan now has a similiar reputation..... 0 -
serbu ....gun tests magazine did a test on 4 brands & the serbu rated highest & was the best price.....excellent magazine 0 -
If anyone offers to sell you a Hesse of Vulcan firearm, run away as fast as physically possible. Their firearms are all junk.

No No AR50 is better.
Honest injun..THis is how I rate the ones I fired:
Military 50bmg MaDuce converted to semi #1
McMillian #2
Barrett #3
Armalite #4
Subaru #5
Robar #6
Imark #7
Amick #8
Various AR15 upper conversions #9
On my AR50 I paid $2450 for basic gun, with scope, bipod, cleaning rod,
brushes, scope rings & carrying case. I'm now around $6,000.
Main concern is where are you going to shot it!
Must ranges wont let you, cause of the noise & bullet penatration of their backstops.
A 690gr fmj bullet will go through about 8-12ft of backstop dirt!
Consider all of this before you make the plunge.
