Remington 870 buttstock
I just purchased a new Remington gloss Trap forend on this site for my 870. Now I need to try to find a compatible buttstock to match (within reason).
First, I'm open to suggestions on where to look
Second, isn't it true that the 1100 and 870 buttstocks are interchangeable? That would sure open up my options.
Thanks a bunch!
Rick

also,
I found a satin buttstock I like...
since the forearm is gloss, how obnoxious would that really be? The wood color and figure seems compatible.
Personally I prefer the satin anyway.0 -
rbucich, Welcome to the forums. If i can remember right( and thats some of the time)the 870 takes a long bolt to attach it. The 1100 has the recoil spring housing tube as a stud affixed to the frame and uses a nut to attach the buttstock. Again if i can remember , it can be modified to work. Easiet way is go to www.sportsmansguide.com and search "gunstocks", they have what you need there. 0 -
Thanks Trap55!
Now that I think of it, there is a slight difference. And your link was very helpful. I think I found a nice complimenting piece.

last thing...and I'll be out of your hair:)
At: www.sportsmansguide.com under gunstocks, they reference the Remington 870CS but I can't find a reference to what CS is there or elsewhere on the web. "Classic Skeet" perhaps? No mention of it at Remington.com.
Thanks again0 -
numrich (the gunparts corp) has a whole bunch of 870 stocks in different finishes.... www.gunpartscorp.com 0 -
It's a Remington stock too. That would be my best guess, it looks like the the skeet stock. Numrich would be my 2nd choice, mainly because you can't see what exactly you are buying. Too bad they don't have the pics as well. There are so many variations of wood, checkering, etc., on the 870&1100 stocks, that you have to see it to be sure. Rick, give them a call and ask them about the CS to be sure. I've dealt with them before and found them to be very friendly and helpful. BTW,nobody thats looking for help "gets in my hair".[:)] 0 -
Contact this seller he may have what you need, I have a Friend that bought from them in the past, Drop them a line.
