If you paid 300 for the gun, and what ever you paid for the rings and scope, add them together and subtract depreciation. Just like a car or truck you never get what you have in it. I have the same carbine in 308 and they go for around 325 to 400 used depending in scope on them. I think that modle ran from 81 to 86 or so. hope this helps.

    Old06,

How do you like it as a shooter. I was in the market for a .223 but ended up trading for the Model70 30-06 after shooting a savage 110 30-06 for 10 years. The Savage was just to big for me to handle and the Model 70 fit like a glove

I have two, one in .243 one in 30/06. Love them both. The 243 shoots all factory and handloads well, my son will use it on a Hog hunt this weekend. The 06 is a little more finicky but I found that it likes 180 gr. spitzer boat tail bullets going 2800 fps and it shoots those to 1" @ 100 yards. Downfall is that gun with that load kicks pretty hard, shooting from the bench gets your attention. Nice to carry on hunts and fits me perfect, I've shot many head of big game with it and wouldn't trade it for twice it's value..

I would imagine that the carbine is similar to the featherweight. I haven't been able to locate the carbine on any of the posting boards other than the "pre" era stuff and I'm pretty sure my gun was made in the early 80's. Am taking it out tommorow to sight in the Nikon. Can't wait to throw some lead in the air.[:D]
