Thomas Jefferson, of Virginia:
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."0 -
You might want to go to this excellent site. This gentleman has a lot of information on the Star pistols along with a forum.

rufe-snow;
Thanks for the link. I bookmarked that page. My dad had a PD back in the late 70's. I too have been considering a BM because of the low prices.

I have 2 of the BM's, one I got new and one surplus from South of the border. They work well and are pretty accurate. They don't seem tempermental about ammo. I've used everything from SWC lead reloads to 147 JHP. I don't use +P in them because I don't need to beat them up. They are a handy size and carry well in a horizontal shoulder holster under a regular shirt.

I second what Mobuck says. I carried one for yrs and ran thousands of rds through it. Never coughed!

My wife gave me one of the surplus ones on the market today for Christmas. Put a couple more boxes through it today and love it. 0 -
It came in, and I shot it, I was very impressed. Smooth and accurate. I'd still like some tips on stripping/assembly/disassembly.
