I am thinking about buying a Ruger Mini 14 223 , is there any thing I should be looking for in this gun before I buy?

  Will the Ruger Mini 14 in .223 chamber and shoot 5.56 military? Or is there a Mini chambered for the 5.56?

  Is it the GB series with the flash supressor and Ruger factory folding stock? What are the first 3 numbers of the serial number? Does it have any factory Hi cap mags? This will help in determinig the worth. A picture would help also.

  If its a GB model with bayo lug and "Ruger" folding stock is worth probably $900.00 +.
  
  The regular production Mini-14's were never part of any ban so there are no pre or post ban rifles in that catagory. If yours has an after market folding stock it would be worth much less than the GB model.
