BEST bullet/load for 40 S&W??
Okay, what is your reccomended bullet and load for self defense against large woods animals, i.e. bear, cougar, bikers, mad moose etc. I like to carry my GLOCK 22 cause its so light, but not sure what will stop a determined critter. What's in your clip???

Ruger Redhawk in 45lc with heavy loads [:D] all kidding aside the Glock model 22 is a good gun for some of what you list but is way to small for bear or moose, IF you plan on using the Glock then I would go with the heaviest full metal jacket bullet with the flatest nose that your Glock will handle 0 -
Even though I'm currently shooting more 32ACP and 45ACP, the 40S&W is a favorite round for me. The pressures are high, some guns (especially the one I had) could reportedly take it up to 40,000 p.s.i., and ammo isn't sky-high.
I've a 250 count box of Speer 180 gr. HP at my feet and 300 rounds of AE FMJ; just waiting to DROS my LAST GUN (for a while - unless a deal too good to pass up appears).
Still, I'm not sure I'd trust this on an angry mountain lion.
I have not shot 45LC, but .44 mag will make a hole, and a new Redhawk blue 7.5 is about $450.0
