There's a man in eastern NJ who makes ivory pistol stocks and sells scraps.
I would think if you photograph the pieces and give measurements, you may reach a larger more general, audience on Ebaxf.

I believe you should check real close with an Antique Dealer...Its against to law to Pocess Ivory at some stage...I believe if memory serves...it has to be a certain "Proven" Age and have written Certification to authenticate...Gonna Save the Elephant and Walrus and Whale...It was Voted on and made into law back about 30 Years ago/
Eskimos can take Walrus and Carve the Tusks into Polar Bears and Sleds and whatever else comes to mind and Sell to Tourists...The taking of Elephant Ivory was Banned in Africa so as to stop Poachers...If One could'nt sell it or if did sell it the Fine on the Recipient would be very High..and a Jail term for the Poacher...Hippo Tusk...? I hav'nt a Clue....But be sure to do some serious checking before trying to Sell or trade off what You have...cause you're gonna have a bunch of Animal Lovers down on your head......I wish You Well in your endeavor....

Check with the Warther Museum in Dover OH. They sell ivory on ebay. Ernest Warther bought tons of ivory before the ban, he carved trains and stuff from it. They know all the laws. Run a search on Warther, you'll find out how to contact them. If you ever get a chance to visit the museum, do it. You'll be amazed at what Warther could carve. I think the family is up to four generations in knife makers.

Pay close attention to the Captains advice. Several years ago I was going to purchase some Ivory from a retiring gunsmith. A very good friend of mine is an Attorney, and I asked him to check the law.He found that to protect myself, I should get a signed declaration from the seller[or in your case the executor or family member]as to the number of years the ivory had been owned prior to your aquisition.

    Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob
