You're not going to believe this, but I read your post with my attention somewhat distracted.

I came right back, though. Thought it said "Testicle Holder"[:I]!

Does the holster slide on the leg straps itself? Or does the whole holster & strap slide around?

If it's the fore, you might want to look into some belt keepers to keep the holster in place. If the latter... maybe get a holster that costs more than $30?

The holster and straps slide around. I looked at several different holster in this style and they all look the same. I did't see any reason to spend $80 dollars when I could get the same thing for $30. I have seen some of the swat guys around town wearing these. If there is anyone that has used these I would like to here if you have had the same problem. Maybe I do need to trash this one and try something different. I like this style of holster for sitting in my tree stand. Some of the ones I've tried on a belt make the gun dig into my side. This leg holster was nice and convenient, it kept my gun out of the way but very accessable.

If your SWAT/TAC team is using $30 "Uncle Mike" type holsters that in and of itself is a scary thought.

What's probably happening is that the slippage is starting at your belt and then the leg straps are following the motion . You can try thghtening the leg straps, but I think you may cut off the flow of blood before you stop the forward movement.

You mentioned that the holster top strap attaches to your belt with a clip then the balance is with the leg straps. Are you using a TAC belt or whatever happens to be holding up your pants. If the latter the belt may be too narrow as well as too thin. Try a belt that is approx. one eigth inch thick and wide enough to basically fill the clip of the holster ... heavy leather, or maybe better yet TAC web.

Beyond that the strap to your belt may be just to flexible. Remember these rigs are or were (before the "looks cool" school of thought) intended to be worn with body armor and permit the TACO's weapon to be drawn without hinderance from the armor. Serious TAC gear may look similar but it isn't and that's why it costs so much more. A good holster like you are talking about does not have a limp/flexible strap to the belt, yet it does not impeded body movement either and the means of attachment/belt it attaches to does not permit it to slide around.

Hope this helps you see the possible problem areas and find a solution to your problem. And in closing if you are not in that line of work and wear body armor, the thigh rig don't look as cool as many people think, and you might want to try using a "high and tight". But hey, if you can fix your slippage problem and like the style, go for it!

I don't wear this to look cool. As I explained I wear this while hunting and liked it because it was out of the way. Thanks for the info I'll try a wider belt.

Safariland Thigh Rig model #6004. It's the only way to go. About $75.00. I use one during recon competitions that require lots of running. It never moves.

Might want to look into a Blackhawk too. I use the Omega VI holster and haven't had a problem with it. Also, with a lifetime warranty, you can't beat $65. I have to use a tactical holster because my arms are too long for regular hip holsters. I always end up hitting my elbow on something when drawing my weapon.

I bought a pair (R&L) of these a few years back ... I put the strap on the belt behind the side loop ... prevents it from sliding around to the front and it has never been a problem sliding to the back.

Would think it would be a mite hard to access a pistol in a thigh rig when in a tree stand, but, you didn't say what type of stand you were sitting in so ya got me there.

Myself, when I was in a state that allowed me to carry a handgun as backup I used the same setup as when I used a handgun as my only firearm (Ohio don't permit carrying long gun and handgun at the same time, unless the regs have been changed in the couple years that I've been unable to hunt). And that rig is a chest/under arm setup as I found that I could get to my contender or revolver better in several different hunting situations, including several type of tree stands.
