Winchester 94 ???
I have a 1900 vintage Winchester 94 short rifle with a pistol grip stock. The stock it rough, not from wear, but someones "handy work".
I have a chance to purchase a Model 64 stock.
Does anyone know if the curve of the pistol grip on this stock match that of the early Model 94 with a pistol grip?
Thank you,
Taperloc.

Hello taperloc...
While I have never tried swapping a stock from a Model 1894 with a Model 64, it should work. The Model 55 and 64 were simply continuations of the original Model 1894 Rifle (after Winchester dropped it in the early 1920s). However, I doubt that the wood will fit up perfectly. As you are probably aware, Winchester hand-fitted the stocks to each and every rifle that they produced until 1964, and as such, most stocks will be ill fitting when interchanged.

I have my doubts about it fitting, but if the price is reasonable, would be a good item to buy, someone will need it.

I doubt it will work. Myself, i would consider the 94 to be worth more in the condition it's in rather than it having a 64's stock. In other words I wouldn't change the stock.

Thanks everbody, I think that I have answered my own question.
I checked Madis's book this morning an viewed the photos of a 64 P/G and a 94 P/G. The 64 has a much sharper curve. A 64 would probably fit the tang etc. but it won't work.
Thank you all again,
