    for instance...
i like to add a few pages to my gun files on the ARSENAL and its history. usualy its easy to find out information, and when the ARSENAL is still around, sending them a polite letter with the SER# can net you a wealth of information on the gun / arsenal / history. i include these letters in my file folders.

in the case of my TYPE 99 ARISAKA SHORT RIFLE 7.7mm this is not possible. my rifle was produced by the TOYO MANUFACTURING CONCERN under supervision of KOKURA ARSENAL technicians in the HIROSHIMA PREFECTURE ARSENAL WORKS. obviously i can not send a brief note requesting information in this case.

i am trying to acertain how these factors will effect value. there are some easy to spot indicators that we can all use. CHROME LINED BBL`s are desirable for shooters, and indicate early production guns. sight type and variation are key also. the type of bolt handle knob, buttplate, BBL bands, etc... are all easy to disearn and helpful.

condition of the gun, finish, markings, matching numbers, etc...

i just draw a blank on wich ARSENAL`s and what DOM, and other variations do to value. its a little frustrating. best regards, mike.
