S&W 99 compact any good ?

Any comments on this gun in 40 S&W ? Pretty small package. Since I personally don't like Glocks, thought this would be good for CCW. thanks

    Dont have any history with the compact but have carried the fullsize .40 for 2 years now. Never any problem with the gun. Best of both worlds ... German Engineering and Smith & Wesson manufacturing.

    My CCW instructor,, an old timer, carries that piece, and is absolutely deadly with it.

    I have a SW99 .40 compact and a SW99 .45 full size. I really like both of them. The .40 is a little small in the hand w/o the finger grip extention on the mag, so I would suggest buying a couple of extra mags with that feature. Other than that, it shoots just as well as it's big brother. I also have a Steyr S40 compact and I think it out shoots and out perform the SW99 compact hands down. That's just my opinion though. Good luck with your choice. I think you will enjoy it.

    I too, do not prefer the Glocks. Take a look at the Springfield Armory Extreme Duty .40 cal. They look somewhat like a Glock but in my opinion surpasses them. I like the grip safety that the S.A. pistol offers and it is an accurate weapon. The price is not bad either. Good shooting my friend...
