    Dick;

    Sounds like it is about 80-90% and a pretty nice find. I would venture $500-800 range. Will research and get back to ya...

    Hey bud;

    Back again best as I can surmise, she was manufactured '95-'96. My numbers are conservative, have seen them range from $1200-5995 on other sites and with certain dealers. If its a family inheritance you can't put a price on it anyway...G/day

    biggus,
    I won't venture to put a value on your '92,but according to the "Blue Book",it was manufactured in 1923.Sounds like a very nice piece.[^]

    BTW,Welcome to GB!

    Hello Dick,

    I agree with Bobbywins in that your Saddle Ring Carbine (SRC) was manufactured in about 1923. It is a special order gun due to the fact that it has a button magazine. I am having difficulty trying to picture the front sight you are describing... can you send me a picture of it? The rear sight is a standard Carbine ladder sight.

    I disagree with Madman on the condition rating of 80-90% though... brown (patina) finish does not equate to that level of condition. Again, it would best if you could post a few pictures of it. Typically, the receiver/frame will have considerably less original finish than the barrel, and Winchester collectors grade a gun by the remaining finish on the frame.

    Lastly, a SRC should not have a true crescent butt plate on it... and the prescence of one on your SRC leads me to believe that that it may not be 100% factory original... which will negatively affect the value. Still, it is probably worth at least $1000 - $1200. If you are simply looking for an insurance value, declare it at $1500.

    Welcome to the forum[:)]

    You might remove the buttstock to see if there is an assembly number on the left side of the lower tang, stock and buttplate. If there are numbers and they match, then it is proper.
