R.Noske 2.5x scope
Found an old winchester 54 with this scope on it. Im trying to get an idea of when it was made and what it is worth (if anything).
Stamped on top of tube : R.Noske 2 1/2x
Tube Diameter: 7/8
Retical: Post (no crosshair)
Scope appears to be around 90-95% (matched the rifle..yay)
windage and elevation is in the front part of the scope, probally 1/4 the way back.
Thanks guys,
Kolt

According to the scope book you have a old one there.
It's either a Noske #1 Type A, or a #2 Type B, depending if there are caps over the adjustments.
They were made from 1930 to 1939 by Noske, and Stroebel values them between $100 & $200.

Great info. Mine has the caps over a very "differnt" adjustment system. very wierd calibration marks.
Thanks for the info!

The caps make it the No. 1 Type A. Field of view is 40 feet at 100 yards. Luminosity is 55 and eye relief is 4.0-6.0 inches. Sounds like a keeper! Elmer Keith considered Noske the first American scope maker to produce a quality hunting scope.
