I am wanting to get the best rifle scope made for less then $100 for a Savage model 99c, 243.
Are there good scopes made at that price?

    Thanks for any advice!!

I sell lots of Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5 and 3-9 power scopes for less than $l00. They are reasonalby reliable, clear, and not overly recoil sensitive.

I ran into a guy at KMart looking at a Bushnell Banner, 6x18. This scope was $129, of course that is above your listed range a bit.
This scope has an adjustable objective, the scope focuses the way you focus an expensive camera. It has settings, from 15 meters, to 50, to 100, 400, infinity. This guy said he just leaves it on 100 and it works, from 50 to 200 fine. The good thing is, on a close shot say 20 yards, you can focus that scope and will still have a clear image.
This guy said this would make his 4th of these same scopes. He had one on a 7mag, one on a 30-06, one on a .223. He had never had a problem with the Bushnells and he said he had to send back a Leupold twice.
I liked that super magnification, I am 53 and the eyes ain't what they used to be. I may get that big boy for next year.

I got a Bushnell Trophy 3x9 for $89 from Cabelas. I am shooting it on a Savage smokeless muzzleloader, lots more recoil than your gun. So far so good, Bushnell scopes are good.

All I buy for scopes is the Bushnell Trophy Line. Have them on bolts up to 7mm Rem Mag. Also have them on 10/22's and a Mini-14. I have never had a single problem with any of them and think they are the best valued scope for the money. They are under $100 and if you go to Cabelas and order from there, you get a free gunsmith screwdriver set.

I agree with the guys the Trophy scope is the best under $100 . Go see your local dealer and get your best price. My price is $99.00 and we mount and boresight for free . Keep your local guy in business.

God gave us all a gift. Have you found yours yet ?

I also shoot BSA on all my guns never a prob. the price is right and use currently on a 6mm rem a 25-06 and a .223 which all 3 are 1 hole guns at 100 yards. But can tell you I have also had good luck with the bushnell
scopes.so there is more than 1 choice.

My dad has a Savage 99 in 243 with an old 4x Bushnell Banner, and gets along great with it. I think every rifle in my house has Bushnell Banner or Trophy glass on it right now, from rimfires to the 30-06's. They've survived all kinds of drops and rough rides in the truck.

I catch a lot of crap for buying a new BAR and putting a Trophy 4-12x on it, but it works well. I never flinched at putting this scope on the rifle because I've found that they're an excellent value. I might put a Leupold on it someday, but it'll have to be a really good deal.
