Value- 1918 army colt 45-arsenal refurbished
Recently traded for subject pistol. All markings are there with a small"ria" beneath the serial number ( 486,xxx ). Replaced barrel seems to be the only newer part, but I am no expert. Pistol is in very good parked condition. Also, what is the proper clip for this pistol?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Skip,
The values on these read like a stock market tickertape. Has it any A1 features? Is the parkerising a dark olive in sunlight? Diamond grips or something else? The magazine it was issued with was a two-tone. They are pretty easy to find.
Some of these went to the Navy, but as it has RIA on it, I would believe it was in the Army's rehab system. If it retains all 1911 feature, it was probably rehabed in the 20's or early 30's.
This is tough to evaluate because anybody can parkerize over the kitchen stove and do a good job. They just can't match the color correctly.
If it can be authenicated as a not messed with and legit 1911 rework, it ought to bring $550-$900. If A1 features have been added, slightly less.0
