Leaving Va Beach, to go to Pa. Job thing.... Thanks for the info. I was not sure if I could pack and go. I grew up in Pa, then moved here for the past 15 years. At least the family is there.

There is no registration of firearms in PA. When you move into PA you do not have to notify any gov't agencies of type and quantity of firearms owned.

Yup, pack them and go. I was stationed in TX, then got stationed in PA. Just stuck them in the van and moved. - Toe

I am not disagreeing with the above posts, but I always advise caution. There may be no state requirement to register (just like Ohio), but there can be local requirements. Check w/ a couple gun shops/ranges in your new area. Probably isn't a requirement, but you don't want to find out the hard way ...

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

Welcome to PA, we are still relatively free within the boundaries of our trusted commonwealth. Enjoy!

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

    Don't fly the river!

Johnstwon area, Yes there is local laws or maybe its a state law on pistols. They have a CCW (state) permit, and a "sportsmans" permit. I understand the sportsmans is required to have a pistol with you at the range or out hunting. The CCW is the same as everywhere else. If you know any good ranges near J-town let me know. I also understand that my semi auto rifles and shotguns are not allowed for hunting, except for small game(shotguns). Al always thanks for the info.

Amy. Go to the sheriffs office in the county (Cambria, I think )located in Ebensburg and get a personal permitt to carry. You can also get a hunting/fishing permitt ( with a license )to carry while enjoying those sports. Both are fairly inexpensive. Nothing to do on the rifles or shotguns , but you should go to an FFL dealer(gun shop) and get the pistols registered.

countershaft, What is the deal with registering pistols in Pa? What is the process, reason for this? Is it something that has to be done, the whole idea of registering guns is a bit concerning...
