AK-47 Mags.
I am about to plunge into the world of the AK-47. I am puzzeled about the many different kinds of magazines available. Metal, plastic, Chineese, Bulgarian, etc.
I am going to go SAR-1, do all of these magazines fit the Romanian model? Are there any gottchas? Thanks as always folks!

http://www.aimsurplus.com has a good deal going on Polymer AK mags. I have 2 and they work great. Stay away from USA brand mags. Other than that try not to pay too much for mags.

Most all are good. Some of the older imports have better "fit and finish" too them. I like the plastic too--which have metal re-enforcing at the feed lips.
Don't forget to get a drum too! I just bought two of these:

The top-feed drums are a hassle to load (and might require "deburring" of sharp metal edges to work well); try to find the Chinese rear-loading like the ones I just purchased.0
