Need Info on German Single shot .22 BSW?
This gun I have here is .22cal and has an 18" barrel and fixed sights. The bottom of the barrel has the sling swivel mounted through it. Also on bottom of barrel it has 155938. On the top of the barrel it says Fluss-Stahl Krupp-Essen. On top of the rec. it says Mod. 315 BSW Suhl The top of the bolt says 938 on it. The bolt handle it self is a tear drop shape. The stock has a checkered pistol grip and it also has a cheek piece. The bottom of stock has a round take down know to unscrew the stock from the action. If you know what this gun is or when it was made and value, please reply. Thanks

I can't find a reference to BSW, which is probably initials for the maker. Fluss-Stahl, Krupp-Essen refers to "fluid steel" manufactured by the Krupp Firm in Essen, Germany. This dates the gun, as in both Germany and the U.S. fluid steel was stamped on barrels to differentiate the barrel's composition from barrel materials used in the back powder era. The teardrop bolt handle also indicates European origin. Capt.Kirk (Moderator) may be able to help with more info. 0 -
BSW were the initials of the company "Berlin Suhler Waffen & Fahrzeugwerke".
This was the new name of the company which had formally been known as "Simson & Co"
The name change took place in 1932.
Your .22 sporter was probably similar to a earlier model produced by the Simson Co.
