Timney probably makes one, but why not just trade it to a collector if it is still all original? If not all original, at least save the original parts.

    wallihunter,

Brownells carries the Dayton-Traister triggers for the 1917 Enfields. There are 4 styles depending on how your receiver is set up. They are adjustable from 2 to 7 pounds.

    Best.

Only question I have is why you would want to put a custom trigger on a battle rifle unless you are customizing it into a "sporter". And if you are converting it then saving the original parts will only bring you a little cash selling them in the restoration/repair market as you won't be able to bring your "17" back to the military config.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

WALLIHUNTER, Contender Man and Skyking are giving you good advice. I bought a 1917(Remington) about 1976 and shot it off a bench and groups ran about 1 1/2" to 2" as I remember. I decided the trigger needed to go and bought a dayton-traister trigger and for good measure a cock on opening(both the 1917 & P14 cock on closing) kit. Installed them and went back to the range. A horsefly couldn't have lived on the difference in the size of the groups. I ended up selling the rifle and taking a beating. The next one that I bought I left original and couldn't have been happier. Original 1917 rifles are becoming hard to find and pricey when you do. It's your rifle but let an old warhorse plead a case of originality in its behalf. I have owned more than a few 30/06 service rifles(Garands, 1917, 1903, 1903A3, columbian mauser, etc) and the most accurate one by far was a 1917 Eddystone Enfield and it was dead stock(groups off a bench ran consistantly around 1" and sometimes slightly less, with good hanloads. Wish I had it back. Pinhead
