Makarov help

I bought a Bulgarian Makarov today at a gun show. After I got it home, I detail stripped it to get the cosmoline out of it. After I put it back together, I noticed a small part left on the floor. It is silver and looks like a tiny nail. I did not see this part upon the initial disassembly. I looked at a parts diagram and I did not see it on there. It may not actually be part of the pistol, but I want to make sure.

  Post a pic of the part? It doesn't sound like a Mak part (the only parts I can think of that have a silver color are the springs, the rest are blued), but I'd have to see it to be sure.

  I dont remember seeing any silver shiny parts on my Mak.........

  That doesn't look like a Mak part. Does your Mak have pins in all the places it's supposed to? Trigger guard pivot, barrel retention? How about spring plungers? Did you remove the trigger guard? If so, it could be the guard plunger. Also, double check your extractor, make sure its plunger is in place.
  
  Otherwise, and I'm guessing this is correct, that piece isn't from a Mak.

  I didn't remove the trigger guard or the extractor. It looks like everything's in place. I'll try it out today.

  Shot it today. No problems. Only one malfunction (double feed). Man is this a great little pistol. How does such accuracy come out of that little barrel? My CZ52 shoots a foot low at 7 yds. Love that Russian technology. [:D]
