Can a c&r holder legally ship a handgun to an FFL holder via United States Postal Service?

    I was considering getting a C&R license, but am concerned that "C & R elegible" really meany that one is elegible to be awakened at 3am by ATF agents to inspect your records. Paranoia or truth?

    Go to www.atf.gov then look in the left menu then click on forms. Then scroll down click on general. Then scroll down to c&r app. Click on it and bingo your there. Just print them off.

    Also, be sure to fill out form no. 5330.20 It is a declaration of citizenship sort of cra#....BATFE did not send it to me. I heard of it from a seller of bound books...RK Enterprises...Real nice folks that will spend the phone time to help you through the process...Get their "C&R package"...All you need is there...Email me if you can't find their site or Ph.#...Dale

    By the way salanders, welcome to the forum. I'm a relative newbie, also. Folks here are GOOD people..You might want to thicken your hide if you get into an emotional topic, but if you need advice, prayers, moral support or a good lashing, you came to the right place...Wait...about that moral thing.....[}:)]

    You need to have legal size paper to download the forms from the ATF site. I just wrote to them and got everything I needed; filled out the forms, sent a copy to my local Sheriff, sent the other copy to ATF along with $30.00 and got my license in 2-3 weeks. 'Course this was was 5-6 years ago. Saves a lot of hassle and you would be surprised at the firearms you can have sent to your home. Emery
