Colt AR Magazines worth?

Fifteen bucks each is about right. Mags with the Colt logo are usually more.

There are numerous contractors who make military mags for the M-16's and they are all good mags, just as good as Colts, but without the Colt name.

You can get them under 15.00 if you buy them in bulk. There should be some listed on this auction to compare with. The mags with the green followers are the rage now, since the new followers are less prone to doing an endo in the mag tube.

    I agree with Lefty, but...........

If they are "military", that doesn't necessarily mean that they are "USGI"; you don't want any mags that are not "USGI".

If they don't have a Colt floorplate, then they are not "Colt"; I can't tell what you bought, since you didn't tell us what is on the floorplate. They may be worth $15, or they may be worth nothing.

You also didn't tell us if the mags are new or used. That helps determine the fair price. If they are used, be sure that you can return them & try them immediately; there is at least one person out there selling bad mags recovered from a dumpster.

The ones I bought are NOT colt but they are USGI and worth
the $15. That is better than they go around here at the shows. I
have some like them and they shoot great. 4 were new and 4
were used but very little. What I was asking about was, the
gentleman that I bought these from has some with the colt logo
for $25 and I was wondering what those are worth? The Colt
ones are used but in great condition. He got them from an
estate lot. What are 2 COLT 20 rounders used in great condition
worth each and what are 9 COLT 30 rounders in used in great
    condition worth each?

$20-25 each would be a fair price, less if you bought all of them.

Thank you, that is what I was needing to know.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i don't think Colt actually produced any of the USGI mags. My understanding is that they were contracted out and the only difference is the Colt marked base plate.

As far as function they aren't worth a penny more than any other quality mag, but collectors and Colt fans seem to be willing to pay a premium for them.

$20-25.00 used and $30.00-35.00 new seems to be the going rates on a few at a time.

TD, you are correct. Colt doesn't make ANY of their own mags. They do not, however, discuss this. It's possible that more than 1 contractor has made AR-15/M16 mags for them over the past 35 years. All I know is that when I compared some Colt mags to those made by Okay Industries, they appeared identical, except for the floorplate.

You are also correct when you say that all USGI mags function equally well.
