if its going to be used for hunting then i would go with the Bushnell holosight II, these are very good at letting you see you target in early or late light conditions , much better than trying to look thru the tube of a standard reddot , now if you just going to be useing it for target practice just about any of the better red dots will do

the quality of the scope is determined by the size of the dot. the smaller the better. many dots wont adjust down and will cover a target totally if youre shooting far away. therefore, try one out and see how small it gets and then put it on a target and see if it blots it out.

Thanks guys...I'd still like to hear from some red-dot fans though.

I've been using Tasco's Pro-point for over 10 years. I have one on a Browning Buckmark .22 and another on a 12 gauge slug gun shooting 3" slugs. I leave both eyes open, and the dot is just "there". I don't even see the tube, dot on target, shoot! No eye relief, and if you leave both eyes open, no field of view restriction. Very rugged and reliable. Also, fantastic warranty. I once forgot to turn the switch off, voltage went down, amps went up and burned out the light. My fault entirely. Sent it in for repairs to Tasco, they sent me a brand new scope, no questions asked. Hope this helps.

you don't have to worry about that if it had been a bushnell holosight as they turn themselfs off after i think its 4 hours ,
