Silencers are legal only if your state allows it. If they allow it you can apply to the ATF for a license to either purchase or build one for any gun or caliber. You'll have to pay a tax on them like you would a full auto firearm and do the fingerprint/background check thing as well.

How many times does it have to be said ... until it soaks in[?]

Legal ONLY if permitted by local law and you can clear the license process. Then you fork over your $200 and go quietly into the night.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

    C. Man ~ I'm guilty of the same thing. Zoning out, then asking something which was covered a few weeks back.

    I wish I COULD get a silenced .22

That would make quick work of these raccoons which keep coming up onto the porch to eat my cat's food!

Get a good high powered air rifle. They are legal.

Jsergovic - your right, a little after this post I "zoned" and thought a fella was trying to build a rifle using a 50mm case necked down to 6.5 ... "duh" [B)]

But this whole silencer thread has been flopping around like a dying carp for the past couple days ... same questions. Think for at least a little while when I see the title/word "Silencer" I'll take a hint and just be silent

Gettin' to be a grumpy geezer, especially when it gets close to my bedtime.[:D][:D]
