Remington mod. 700 Police 308?
Haven't heard much about these guns and was wondering if anyone has shot one or had any experience with them. From the name it sounds like they would be pretty accurate. Are they equivalent to Rem Sendero or are there any differences?

I check on them last year. Was told by a Remington rep the difference in the action and bbl was the pss model had to pass a more stringent quality control measures. Besides that the difference in stock ( 2 front attachment pts on forearm of stock, 1 for bipod and 1 for sling )and slight style difference is the only difference between it and the vs models. my 2 bits

I was at the range when our sheriffs dept was re-zeroing thiers ... they had ordered 3 PSS's, 2 of the 3 wouldn't group 2" at 100 yds ... they had sent them back to the custom shop repair/rebarrel ... when they came back they had varmint barrels on them ... sherrif deps were'nt happy to say the least but decided they weren't going to send them back again and have Rem keep them for another 3 months ... on the positive side, they were shooting 1/2"-3/4" groups at 100 while I was there ... they could almost do as well as my AR and handloads ... but not quite, and they did notice [8D]

I've got a Rem. 700P that apparently came from Remington in a wooden stock and a 24" heavy barrel. It will shoot .50" groups at 100 yds all day long. I have it topped with an early Redfield 3x9 Accu-range scope. I've only shot 173's in it so far. I'm anxious to see what it will do with 168 gr. hp boattails. 0 -
I believe some of these guns in 308 came with a 1-12" bbl twist rather than a 1-10" and some of them won't stabilize some of the heavier bullets --- Check before buying if the twist matters to you............[8D] 0
