Do you possibly mean 7.62x51 NATO, 7.5x55 Swiss, or 7.62x54R? I'm not familiar with a 7.5x54 cartridge[?]

Isn't the 7.5 x 54 the French round that the MAS 36 is chambered for?

Least you've got a weapon that wasn't originally fired much.[:D]

There are several nice compact scopes ... are you lookin to set it up in a scout config. or traditional as that would help w/ the suggestions.

there is a forward mounted SCOUT low profile scope mount available for the MAS1936. it attaches to the base / grooves that retain the original forward battle sights. a long eye relief 2-8X or 3-9X power pistol scope in matte black looks good on the gun, keeps it in a good balane, does not interfere with the bolt, or loading via stripper clips, or any other operation. very affective out to 200 yds with a gun in good working order. best regards, mike.
