They no longer make the 40. I had one, didnt like it. jammed up quite a bit, and I could barely hit the side of a barn with it. But thats just me-I know a few folks who like it.

    I have a Kel-Tec P40 and love it.
    No Problems.
They stopped making them because most people "limp wristed" them.
Buy it and get the finger grip for the mag.

I've been thinking about getting one myself and found the following links to contain a lot of good info. Plus it seems that most problems can be owner fixed.

My 2 week old P11 blewup on about round # 30 while taking my CCW class.
The end of the barrel split clear up to the chamber.
Was using new Federal 138gr 9mm factory ammo.
Kel-Tec did send me a new gun, but sold it a week after.
Walte No longer a Kel-Tec fan..

I currently have a p11 and a p32. Never had a problem with either one of them. I have shot the p40 and, to me, seemed to have quite a kick to them. I beleive Rugerniner is totally correct on the reason that they discontinued producing them. www.ktog.org is an excellant site for a ton of information. Also. from what I have heard, the customer service from the company is second to none!

I have a P40. They are very prone to limp wristing. They had so many problems with returns cause of people limp wristing that they discontinued them. The standard mags are 9 rounds, not 10. With the grip extension they hold 10, they still sell this, bought one from kel-tec a few months ago.

I've shot about 250 rounds thru mine, bought it used. The 1st 50 rounds I had maybe 10 misfeeds cause of limp wristing. 2nd 50 maybe 5 cause of limp wristing. Then I put on a hogue slip on grip, trigger shoe, and magazine extension. I get maybe 1 fail to extract every 50 rounds or so now (cause of limp wristing). Its all a matter of techinque, they kick.. ALOT. Cause its such a light and small pistol and .40s ain't that wimpy.

As long as I take a firm grim and don't limp wrist the slightest lil bit, mine works like a champ. If I forget and don't hold that puppy rock solid as I can... Well I get a FTE occasionally.

I'm going to get their .380 for CCW, so I guess I'm betting my life with it (also getting a 10mm for when it is feasable to conceal it).

Kel-Tec is one of the best brands for the money. All I hear are good things about them from friends.

I have 2 P-40's and the only real problem is getting a correct magazine. You need to read the write up on the owners group web site on magazines as there are 3 variations. Also, they do better if you stay with lighter bullet weights such as 155 gr. I carry one in a pocket holster all the time loaded with 155 gr Federal Hydrashocks.
