Springfield Armory
Bought Springfield Armory 1911A1 slide in 9mm, wanted to use on Colt series 70 frame. Got all parts and find that the standard barrel for series 70 9mm does NOT fit, tang or whatever its called above chamber for Springfield is narrower than "Colt" style. Anyone know where to get a 9mm 1911A1 Springfield barrel? They are marked S.A. 9mm. If you have one to sell please advise and list on GB for sale.

swrdfish Your springfield is a standard 1911a1 model. You can buy any accessory that is made for the 1911. check out www.midwayusa.com they are having a clearance sell on mil spec magazines for $3.99, they will match your parkerized gun perfectly and at that price you can buy a bunch of them.

Hey bro; Don't go for the low end mags. Chip McCormick or Wilson's is the way to. Had some low end mags just go to pieces in my qualifying course and was I ever embarassed...my Model 70 was pristine, but I finished the course in flying colors with a borrowed Chip McCormick's...made me a believer.

If you spent the money on the "loaded" aside from mags and ammo what else do you think you need? Laser, tac light ... both? Or do you want to start peeling off the parts you paid for to start slappin in other peoples after market parts that your going to pay more money for?
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0
