99% of revolvers ever made cannot be "silenced". the only exeptions are PIEPER or NAGANT style gas seal revolvers. the cylinders are actuated forward during trigger pull, and the cyl. face actualy meets the frame, creating a metal to metal seal. you can install a silencer on a modern wheel gun, but it wil not be effective. best regards, mike.

It is very difficut th silence a revolver since the gap between the barrel and even the tighest fitting cylinder allows gases to escape and increases noise. The best possible results can be obtained from single shot pistols using a locked breech because when fired no gas can escape in any direction other than into the silencer itself. For automaitc pistols, having a fixed barrel makes silencing much easier, otherwise the unit itself must move with the barrel during recoil and this extra weight throws off the operation of the pistol's action and mandates special modifications to allow for proper functioning with the "can" fitted. Small caliber handguns firng low velocity ammunition work best and the Walther PP in .32 ACP is always a favorite.

A Ruger Mark I, II or 10/45 makes an affordable and effective platform for supression. My pipe screws on the barrel, however, if I had it to do over again I would purchase the weapon with the supressor made into the barrel. The average Joe will think that you have a regular bull barrel. One advantage to a removable supressor: you can use it on other weapons. [^]

OOPS: Make that a 22/45. The Mark I and II's feel like a 'real gun'.

There actually have been a tiny handful of silenced revolvers of conventional type built. The work involved fitting a shroud attached to the frame around the cylinder to trap the gasses expelled at the barrel/cylinder gap- it proved neither practical nor worth the effort.

Saxon, do you have a full auto, or a chevy or a house? If so, why??

If someone lives in an area/state that allows you to own a silencer, full auto, chevy or house, and that person qualifies to own such items and has the money to purchase such items, why do they need to have a reason? Maybe its just "because I can..."???

Get an HK Tactical and can. Ready to go out of the box. Sounds like someone breaking tree branches...

Now, I have a question about how to turn my Chevy into a full auto...

I'll make the 10th post so this will "lock" and things will hopefully "move on".

i want to own one for the same reason some people buy a new car or gun and hardly ever use them ,but take enjoyment in polishing them and just enjoy having them. i could give you a more lengthy answer but refuse to embrass you
