If you plan on using it for personal defence...buy something different. We use one and now it it is taught to shoot more than once at your target. Enought said!!!!
Granted they have worked for personal defence....however, choose an AR 10 in a 30 Cal. The 308 or 7.62mm will take down anything you would reseaonably would to in N.America to include home invaders. With less ammo be sent down range.

Look at what Savage has to offer.
Not the highest quality as far as fit and finish goes(but unless you are a perfectionist,it won't matter).
Lot's of bang for your buck.

Remingtons new lvsf may just be what you are looking for. Eniugh weight to be a good bench/varmint rifle yet light enough for carry and offhand shooting. And they are accurate to boot. Leave the savage alone. Made the mistake once. Have not changed my posting ID yet but it will happen soon. Although they do shoot fairly accurate, they are slop. Rough action, Trigger from hades(for lack of being able to put what I really want to say) fit and finish are pitiful. Never again will I buy one. They rank on my list just below the a-bolt.
