Need A Manufacturing Date For My Colt GCNM

Hi Colt Collectors--
I recently bought a series 70 Colt Gold Cup National Match.I would very much like to know what year it was made.The serial number is 70N047xx.

  Colt''s Dates of Manufacture by R. L. Wilson shows that serial number to have been made in 1971.

  If it was made in 71 it should be a very nice example. Colt's quality control really went downhill in the late 70's, but the guns made in the early 70's really had a high level of workmanhip in them. If it's like most examples of early 70's colts you should have a really nice gun
