I have had a Redfield 4X on a ruger 10/22 for years and it zeroed perfectly. Out of the blue, it went off zero and I cannot adjust the windage adjustment. Is it typical for a scope to go to pot just that quick? I doubt if it pays to send it in? Can you over adjust the mechanism so it wont come back? New scopes for a .22 are fairly reasonable, but I hate to junk this one unless it is really shot. 0 -

Should be all you need to know about redfield repairs. Check them out.
Everyone has a photographic memory. Only some have film.0 -
I would try what savage said. I have never heard of one doing that. I did have a very old scope that would just not hold a zero. I will however say that if it can't be fixed and you are willing to spend the money I would sujest a Leupold M8 4x. That is what I got on my ruger 10/22 that has been all done up. It will hit milk jugs at 200yrds.
My 2 cents worth

Sounds like the adjustment turret spring is Shot,Easy fix for a qualfied tech On a quality scope like redfield.well worth fixing IMHO.

probably something minor ... ABO honors the "lifetime" warranty.
On the "lighter side" ... Leupold or otherwise I've never had a scope that I could hit milk jugs with at 200 yards because I can't throw them that far![:D] Sorry couldn't pass that one up.[}:)]
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
Redfield, Weaver and Simmons gave all the same overowner. I had an older Weaver which wouldn't do as it should and they sent me a new current production similar properties scope for the cost of shipping. I'd bet that if you sent it back to them they would send you a new scope. 1-800-285-0689 0
