Tanfoglio Problem
I broke down my Tanfoglio Witness full size 9mm to clean it. Just followed instructions and disassembled slide, barrel, recoil spring and guide. Upon reassembly I find that the hammer does not release with enough force to strike the firing pin hard enough to fire. Anyone with a Tanfoglio that can tell me what I did? The sear assemble looks complicated and I dont what to void the warrantee. Thanks for any help.

Julles--Did you field strip it, or detail strip it? What I mean, is did you break it down farther than frame, slide, barrel, and recoil spring w/guide? If you only field stripped it, I would begin by field stripping it again, and then reassembling it. Cycle the slide back and forth a couple of times and see if this solves your problem. Make sure that you get the slide stop pin in correctly. If that doesn't do it you'll have to take it to a gunsmith or send it to the warranty repair station. If you detail stripped it, then do it again and pay special attention to the spring that powers the hammer and make certain that the relationship of the spring, spring cup (at the bottom of the spring), strut, and strug-hammer pin, are all properly positioned.
