Another FFL question

You don't have to retain an FFL from another person. I only keep copies of other FFL's in case somebody else uses them and that way I already have their information available for shipping purposes.

Thanks Aglore, I don't want to be a lawbreaker, but I don't want to be a packrat either. Musky

It's a good idea to keep them indefinitely.

If there is EVER a problem involving a gun that can be traced to you, it will quickly remove you from ATF scrutiny if you can pull that FFL from your files. Otherwise, they will be looking closely at YOU.

No, you don't HAVE to keep it, but it's not that big a deal, & it will help you to sleep at night.

I agree in keeping them for whatever length of time... In my case, the inspector wanted to see transactions between dealers, and of course, their ffl's, to later verify....

He even took down the nics numbers for several non-dealer transactions, so that he could go back and verify that the numbers were legitimate and not made up...
