Rework rem. 700bdl

I have a rem. 700 bdl 270 std. barrel is there an atvantage to changing the way the action and barrel are mounted in the stock. is a piller system the best. What are your thoughts. Thanks for your help

  In My experience the Remington 700 Design is the Most accurate
  out of the Box rifle you can get,I you are looking to squeeze
  more accuracy out of the rifle i would Focus on the Trigger
  and Maybe the Bedding.Just my Opinion.

  The best modification you can do that will show the most effect for the dollar spent is to rebarrel the gun with a better barrel. The easiest thing to do is to either find the best commercial cartridge the rifle likes or tune a handload for it.

  i have an older rem 700 270 with an excellent barrel. changing barrels is no guarantee that it would be more accurate. in my experience, i would find a good handload that the rifle likes right after i lay that baby to rest in an hs precision stock.get a good trigger job, carefully lap the lugs, so you don't get to much headspace and check the crown.
