I checked several of my books, that list everything Ithaca has made since 1900, and the auto-shotguns listed show they were only made in 20 & 12 guage. You will have to ask your friend for a Model number. The only auto-loader that comes to mind, that you cock and load that way is the old Winchester Md 11, and it was only made in 12 guage. regards Dave

are you sure its an ithaca? the only gun company making semi 410's during the early years was the remington 11-48, the noble model 80, and the franchi. hi standard made pump 410s but not autos. so im stumped. if you can show me a pic of it, i'd be very glad. i collect u.s. semi autos and i have never heard of an ithaca 410 semi auto shotgun. ithacas only semi auto run was the model 51. if only 600 were made, they would be rare.

Is he talking about an Ithaca "auto-burglar" gun by any chance ? They were a 20gauge short-barreled double that was used in law enforcement many years ago. There is one on display in the Cody Museum in Wyoming. And I would bet the that the "auto-burglar" gun was a low production weapon. I'm not sure of the terminology, but I think this is one of those guns that would have had to have been registered under the gun control act.
    Just an idea to check.
