Been using AE 230 .45 for a while. What's next?
I started with American Eagle ammo with my 380, then 40S&W, and also with my .45 when that came. It is not feeding as well as it should in a new Para.
I'm sure I should be using a better ammo, but am not shooting pro, just for fun. I stuck with the AE this long because it worked reliably and relatively cleanly compared to some other ammos (and it is what a local store recommended; when I started buying online, I found it not the cheapest, but it was low-priced)
What's the next step up in quality? I don't want to break the bank, just enjoy a hundred rounds every week or so.
FMJ 230 gr. is recommended by several. Now, which one.
Sellier&Bellot .45 FMJ ... GOOD CALL! I like the way they shoot out of my .32
I'm ordering 150 each of Fiocchi, S&B, and PMC. FMJ 230 gr. all
I've used Winchester "White box". The .40 didn't like them, but have not tried them in the .45.
One other item...I like the way some manufacturers pack ammo in a smaller bow, without all that plastic. Seems the three I'm trying next all pack tight.
This target was emailed to me. I've heard it REALLY works:

Have you tried the Sellier&Bellot .45 FMJ's. My G21 shoots better with those than the AE and they feed better.

As KJ stated the Sellier&Bellot are fairly inexpensive and always go "BANG" I buy 500 rounds at a time for 95.00 I also shoot Fiocchi a lot and it is my favorite but is only slightly more expensive at 110.00 per 500.These are ALL I shoot in 45acp.

You might want to try Winchester USA that's pretty reasonable. However, I assume that you tried some higher end ammo and the pistol functioned well, because, if it's a new pistol and you are having feed problems I would suggest you have a chat w/ Para.
Each pistol is slightly different, but heck I've shot Wolf out of a Para with no feed problems and that's getting pretty near the bottom of the ammo chain.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
I wouod go with the Sellier & Bellot for practice ammo. It has worked first time, every time for me. My 2 cents [8D] I just wish they made 10mm ammo.
