Winfield 22 LR Semi-Auto Pistol-Would Like Info
Today a friend showed me a pistol I've never seen before and he and I would like to know more about it.
Has the style and characteristics of a Colt Woodsman, Belgium Challenger or Old Style Hi-Standard.
Sleek and "flat" style and quality construction. 6.5" Barrel
Markings: All on left side of barrel and frame
"Le Chasseur" Made by "MAR" in France for "WAC". 22LR
Grips are hard black plastic with Thumb rest on left grip panel.
Both grip panels marked: WINFIELD
Can't find anything when doing search on GB or other boards.
ALL help as to what it is, when made and what it might be worth.
Condition 95% plus. 4 digit serial #7977
Thanks

Your pistol was made in France by "MAB", Manufacture D'Armes Bayonne.
Although sold over here as the "Le Chasseur", among other names, it was the MAB Model F.
Winfield Arms Corp. was the outfit that imported them in the 50's.
MAB has been out of business for years, and the Model F probably was discontinued prior to their demise.
Being it's a "FRENCH" orphan, it's probably worth $150 - $250 at the most, depending on condition, number of magazines etc, etc.
