REMINGTON MLE 1907-15
I'M CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ON THIS GUN (AGE, POSS VALUE, OR ANYTHING ELSE OF INTEREST). I BOUGHT IT CHEAP FROM A FRIEND OF MY DAD WHO FOUND IT SEALED UP IN THE WALL OF HIS BUSINESS. IT'S A SHORT LITTLE RIFLE (38") WITH ABOUT AN 18" BARREL, STRAIGHT BOLT, SADDLE RING ON FRONT SIDE, CHAMBERED FOR THE 8MM LEBEL (THOUGH NOT MARKED). NO SERIAL NUMBERS ANYWHERE. MARKINGS ON BARREL ARE REMINGTON "MLE 1907-15" (LEFT SIDE) AND "RAG 1907-15" (RIGHT SIDE). IT'S IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE (ESPECIALLY BORE) CONSIDERING HOW OLD IT PROBABLY IS. SORRY I CAN'T POST A PICTURE. I APPRECIATE ANY INPUT.

Here's a long and very interesting thread from www.gunboards.com concerning your rifle.
The business about the Serial Number was new to me, I thought they were all S N ed, during the manufacturing process?

THAT WEB LINK PROVIDED A LOT OF GREAT INFORMATION ON THE RIFLE. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. I ACTUALLY SAW A COUPLE ON GUNBROKER FOR SALE. IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF THEM MUST HAVE BEEN MODIFIED OVER THE YEARS. BY LOOKING AT MINE I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO TELL, BUT IT SEEMS A LOT SHORTER THAN THE OTHER PICTURES I HAVE SEEN. ANY IDEA WHAT PRICE RANGE THESE GUNS TYPICALLY SELL FOR (I PAID $100)? ANYHOW, THANKS FOR THE HELP. 0 -
The references I have note your rifle was originally made with a 31 inch long barrel.
Apparently yours has been cut down substantially. This would have a very negative affect on it's value to a collector.

I BOUGHT A BERTHIER (SP?)(NOT A REM.)HERE ABOUT A YEAR AGO, PAID ABOUT $85 WITH SHIPPING. BOLTED IT TO THE WALL IN MY REC. ROOM ABOVE THE DOOR TO THE TOILET. 0 -

Does the proximity to the toilet reflect your opinion of France and/or French firearms?

He should be so lucky as to own a Darne shotgun. I hate to hurt his feelings, but every single one of the "German" Walther pistols made since 1945 were built in France under contract.
I have a Unique "Mikros" pistol in .22 Short and it is a little beauty- I value it greatly. So much for the ignorance of the profane.

rufe-snow, this reflects my opinion of, A. french military weapons in general, B. the french attitude in general. don't get me wrong, i have known many fine french people, but i have also met some that have thier nose so high they would drown in a rain storm. 0 -
