GE ,22 rifle
Does anybody know anything about this .22 rifle. It is marked "Orginal..GECO-CARABINER MOD 1919" on top of the barrel in front of the rear site. It's a bolt action rifle similar to a modern"Chipmonk" but is a little larger. Says "Made in Germany" on the bottom of the barrel. The only other markings are "Cal.22 long rifle" under the rear site on the side of the barrel. It has a metal buttplate, Blade front site, and the rear site is adjustible for windage only. Would like to know approx. how old it is and what it might be woth, gun is in about 85-90% condition. Thanks, Don.

Sorry...if your sr# is 3 digit around 1920,s if 4 digit
around 1925. price depends on a buyer...i paid 60.00 for
mine.prob made in Eskilstuna Sweden, as no weapons were
made in germany at the time. don't hold me to the history
of germany, I am sure the good captain with his vast database
can nail the date's for you. Hei?en Sie willkommen zu Gunbroker.0 -
Geco was a trademark and brandname used by the Gustav Genschow Co. It was probably the largest sporting firearms dealer in Germany between the wars.
Your rifle probably dates to the 1920's.
Chances are even though your rifle has the Geco trademark on it, it was made by some other manufacturer for sale by the Genschow Co.
