  Looks like a Carcano Cavalry Carbine?
  
  They were made in great quanity. I wasn't aware that Beretta made any though?

  Beretta was a contractor to the Italian government at various times to supply arms. The first ever centerfire rifle I owned was a Beretta made Carcano carbine- many years gone.
  They aren't very common, but then again not worth much $s today either.
  BTW, it is "Gardone" which is the city in Italy where the Beretta firm is based.
