What kind of Rifle........

In the movie "Crossfire Trail" with Tom Selick and Brad Johnson, Brad shoots a bolt action, bottom tube fed rifle. Does anyone know what this is ? Its a great movie if you have not seen it. Thanks.

    Just saw the movie on TV tonight. You are right, good movie. Can't tell you anything about the rifle but by the cartridge, looks like a 38 or 40 cal.

    I haven't seen this movie in a long time, but, if I remember corectly, it was a Remington-Keene sporting rifle. These were made in several calibers including .45-70. The Remington-Keene was made from 1880 to 1888. There was also a military version as well as a carbine.
