I am about to pay $669 for a springfield champion in stainless, loaded series with night sites. Anyone have an opinion on this gun? This will be my first .45 cal gun. Is it a good one to start with?

The list is $906, and it comes "loaded". The price seems in line.
I often have more fun with a smaller caliber, it is less money to shoot, and you will hear several people recommend starting with a .22, and working up.
I had a Colt in the same size in 40S&W and found it about a perfect combination of size and cartridge load..
The warranty is lifetime, like the Colt. I nearly went with SA, but after my first Colt, I got another...0 -
Amy, check the online gun auctions to see what the Springfield Champion's are selling for. I think $669 is a little on the high side. For that you could get a Colt Commander(lightweight) or Combat Commander(steel frame). All 3 are the same size. I'd prefer the Colt anyday.
Just my opinion.0
